Stop Cutting Down Trees

The Issue

There are many reasons why I want to stop deforestation. First, animals will die because they won't have any homes or food. Second, trees provide the oxygen we need to survive. In addition, the food chain will be messed up so badly that it will start affecting us. It can cut off our food supply, etc. This is why we need to stop cutting down trees.

There are so many pros if we stop deforestation. Here are a few reasons we should stop cutting down trees. Forests prevent erosion. If we cut down too many trees, there will be flooding and landslides when it rains. Cutting down too many trees will affect the water cycle and lead to droughts. This will reduce the amount of water we will have for drinking, cooking, showering, and washing our hands. Preventing deforestation will help millions of plants and animals survive. It would be cheaper if we stopped deforestation.

Did you know that the U.S. cuts down approximately 15 billion trees per year? Not ever, but per year! Now let that sit....think about that for a moment. 15 billion trees per year, and that's just the United States. Now think of the animals that have died all because of us cutting down trees. That is sad, in my opinion. Imagine if you saw an animal alone with nothing. Think of how many animals have gone extinct because of deforestation and habitat destruction.

So what can we do to help? Use less. Waste less. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose. We need to start caring about the Earth. According to David Attenborough, "We need to stop being apart from nature, and become a part of nature."

Please sign this petition and share with your family and friends. Convince people that we need to take care of our Earth. We only have one Earth and we need to leave it better than we found it. We need to preserve nature for future generations.
