Stop Cruelty Toward Animals in Saskatchewan: Impose stricter laws when it comes to the mistreatment of animals
The Issue
Saskatchewan, our Country in general has one of the most lax laws when it comes to the treatment of animals and we plan to change that. I have spoken to various officials that have all told me the same thing " not enough people care" lets prove them wrong!! We are starting a petition that needs to be signed by everyone of you, please include your age and the town in which you reside (this is required). Here is what I would like to see happen. Anyone found to be guilty ( first time offence) of abusing an animal in their care, be it their own or someone else's is to pay a minimum $1000 fine. If accused is not able to pay fine he/she can work it off in animal shelter, vet clinic, SPCA ect. (under supervision). A second time offence would be a $5000 fine or 1 year jail time with never being allowed to have a animal in your care again. The money paid in fines would be donated to local shelters, SPCA, and adoption organisations. I would like to point out that this does not apply to those who raise animals for human consumption, rodeo or racing organisations, not that these animals don't matter but simply because these areas already have stricter laws in place. Please, like, share and post related news articles, posts whatever that will help out our cause to make our Government open their eyes once and for all.
