STOP CROYDON FROM BEING REZONED

STOP CROYDON FROM BEING REZONED
The issue
The Department of Planning last week identified Croydon as a suburb that could be subject to snap rezoning resulting in multi-level developments.
Below are some of the reasons we need to act now and say NO to the rezoning of Croydon.
- There has been a lack of consultation with Councils and the communities.
- High-density developments will cause our suburb to lose its charm and architectural heritage.
- There will be an increase in noise and congestion which will cause property values to decline.
- You can expect an increase in traffic on our local roads and a negative impact on parking.
- A strain on our schools and healthcare services.
- Rezoning will affect green spaces, wildlife habitats, and the overall ecological balance of Croydon.
- The timing of the release of this proposal of these major provisions that have the potential to impact people’s livelihood is only weeks before Christmas, at a time when businesses and residents are distracted.
We need to speak out now before a decision is made to rezone Croydon. Our voice about our suburb needs to be heard!
The Mayor of Burwood, John Faker, is against the rezoning of Croydon. We recommend you contact his office to also show you are against rezoning.
