Stop Criminalizing Abortion Pills in Oklahoma

Stop Criminalizing Abortion Pills in Oklahoma
The Issue
Oklahoma lawmakers just advanced one of the most extreme anti-abortion bills in the country.
House Bill 1168 would make it a felony to deliver, transport, or share abortion-inducing medication. The bill uses the phrase “abortion pill trafficking” — deliberately equating access to women’s healthcare with drug dealing. That’s not just offensive — it’s dangerous.
This bill has nothing to do with safety. The abortion pill (mifepristone) has been FDA-approved for over 20 years and is widely used for safe, at-home care. What this bill does is turn everyday acts of care — like helping a loved one access medication — into crimes punishable by up to five years in prison.
Senator Carri Hicks called the bill out for what it is:
“I simply cannot believe that we are continuing to try and create new felonies for substances that are legal, that do provide valid medical relief to individuals here in our state.”
She’s right. This bill isn’t about protecting anyone — it’s about criminalizing reproductive healthcare, controlling people’s bodies, and turning compassion into a crime.
We cannot let this stand.
Sign the petition to demand that Oklahoma lawmakers reject this bill. Abortion is healthcare, not a crime. Helping someone is not “trafficking.”
