Stop criminal surgeon Ian Paterson from being transferred to an open prison

The Issue

Paterson was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his heinous acts that resulted in significant harm to his patients. He has only served 7 years of this sentence and has being given approval to move to an open Cat.D prison.

Transferring him to a lower-security facility would not only undermine the severity of his crimes but also silence the voices of the victims and their families who are still seeking justice and closure.

To: Rt. Hon Yvette Cooper MP, Secretary of State for the Home Department

We demand:

1. That Ian Paterson remains in a Category C prison until all inquests related to his actions are concluded.
2. That the rights and voices of the victims and their families are prioritised throughout this process.
3. Prisoners sentenced for violent crimes should not be released early under the new remission rules meaning they will only serve 40% of their sentence. This will cause further distress to Paterson's hundreds of victims and families if he is released over the course of the inquests

By signing this petition, we stand in solidarity with those who have suffered due to Paterson’s actions. We urge you to take our concerns seriously and ensure that justice is upheld.
