The people of Courtown and surrounding areas are been denied the right to have their voices heard. The people of Courtown and surroundings areas have a right to have a say about developments in their area.

Wexford County Council CEO Tom Enright is trying to arrange a land swap with local developer Tom O’Loughlin. The proposed swap will be between the old Bayview site and the car park by the leisure centre.

A new hotel would be a welcome investment in Courtown as it would:

Generate job opportunities for locals

Remove an eye score that has remained for way too many years

The main concern for locals is that the car park is not an appropriate location for a hotel. Building a hotel on the original hotel site would be a more appropriate location. 

The other concern is the costs of making the land at the old Bayview fit for purpose. The costs involved with that will be at the expense of the tax payer. Money that could be invested in another project within the community. The current owner of the old Bayview should be the one to pay for works to make that site fit for purpose.

We need to have our voices heard, we need to have our opinions taken into consideration. We want investment in Courtown. We want job opportunities for locals. We want to attract more tourists. We just want to make Courtown Harbour more attractive to tourists and a nice hotel would ensure this.
