Corporations are buying up all the houses currently on the market in a time where supply on housing is low. This is causing housing prices for both renting and buying to sky-rocket at a rate that is near impossible to keep up with. 

Should we continue to allow these corporations to do this, it will result in an overwhelming amount of homelessness of honest, hard working individuals as well as any dependents they may have.

Every individual who contributes to their community by working a job should have the right to a fair opportunity to own a house, or at the very least to have shelter through rent. My petition aims to outlaw such practices of corporations as no company (or even individual), should legally be allowed to buy up needs from the public at such a level that makes it unnecessarily difficult to obtain said need. I propose this petition to create a bill where third-parties can only own a certain percentage of an essential good; and if their ownership exceeds this amount, they are forced to put the excess up for sale to the public.
