STOP Convicted Murderers/Criminals from collecting benefits from their victims

The Issue

I'm a survivor of abuse. When I was 8 or 9 my parents divorced because my dad was abusive. He was trying to kill my mother.  Attempted to kill us  in a house fire and put a gun to my brothers head threatening to kill all 3 of us kids.  When I was 11 he had remarried burned another house we lost everything again.  He murdered my step mother Martha Gill with a rifle told me to clean up the murder scene. He was convicted of premeditated murder.  Given a Natural Life sentence in Mississippi September 1983 and released around March 1998. He didn't serve hard time.  He was allowed to marry twice.  Lived in a trailer on the narcotics bureau grounds in  Mississippi.  Was allowed to use vehicles to come and go. Such a long story.

The system failed to follow through with his sentencing and because of his release he is collecting social security off my deceased mother his 1st wife and victim.  He has married 6 times. While in jail he cut his fingers off, sued and won an undisclosed amount.  He sued for millions.  The fact that I have to fight for change with a law to protect victims in this manner is crazy to me!

People need to know this can happen to their loved ones and we need to fight for change now!  Please help be the change by supporting this action!  In memory of Ellen Sundberg and Martha Gill.
