Arches National Park, located in the stunning region of Eastern Utah, is a jewel of the American natural landscape. With its breathtaking vistas and awe-inspiring geological formations, it's a cherished destination for both locals and tourists. However, recent actions by our country commissioner threaten the way this natural treasure is preserved and enjoyed by visitors.

Grand County Commissioner, Brian Martinez is attempting to influence how Arches National Park is managed by dismissing the essential 'timed entry' system and endorsing a new ACE (Access and Capacity Enhancement) plan, which includes a shuttle service that could severely disrupt visitor experience and have a negative impact on local economy. Also, a bike trail and more hiking trails which will have a negative effect on the park’s delicate ecosystem and wildlife habitats.

The 'timed entry' system was implemented to manage the overwhelming number of visitors sustainably, reducing congestion, decreasing the negative impact on nature, and ensuring a more enjoyable and meaningful visit for everyone.

Removing the 'timed entry' system has already increased traffic, overcrowded trails, and jeopardize the natural integrity of the park.  

We cannot allow this cherished natural landmark to be governed by decisions that prioritize mis-guided, quick access over long-term conservation. Instead of compromising the park’s integrity with broad, ineffective strategies, we should focus on preserving its unique beauty through proven management plans that protect the environment and enhance visitor satisfaction.
