STOP CLEARVIEW HERBICIDE SPRAYS ON THE SHUSWAP

STOP CLEARVIEW HERBICIDE SPRAYS ON THE SHUSWAP
The Issue
STOP CLEARVIEW HERBICIDE SPRAYS ON THE SHUSWAP, Especially in Provincial Parks and along roadways.
Ok. so when the world gets busy and out of reach, I always tend to take a step back and spend my time on what I can actually have influence over...and in this case, I have been taking a closer look at CLEARVIEW HERBICIDE that is set to be sprayed all over BC again this spring/summer, including in the Provincial Park in Lee Creek and others. I’m gathering support through awareness at this point so we can unite together and stop the Poisoning.…
ClearView is being sprayed to “kill the reported Invasive weeds”. but not only are we not discussing what else it kills, the plant life being targeted such as Mullein and burdock which are actually two examples of ancient plants that have an immense variety of healing properties. Just as an example, these are being “sprayed”.
Most do not realize what they are agreeing to with these Chemical Sprays, through the primarily publicly funded societies, as they don’t look into the details. I’m confident if everyone just takes a little time to examine the below information I’ve gathered in just a few hours of research and critically think on the fact we are funding spraying hazardous chemicals all around our environment with the intention to kill plant life and we are ignoring the visible signs before our own eyes of little to no bees, ants, and worms, particularly in Haig Brown Park in Lee Creek.
As a collective, we need to invite a more sustainable and healthy future and present for ourselves and those who come after us. Imagine if a half a million dollars was spent on plant life in the Shuswap as opposed to plant death. All plants grow and are here for a reason, just like all life. We all need to have the patience to go back to our roots. There is much more information on Clearview, but even if one of the chemicals in their concoction they call CLEARVIEW is TOXIC to life in any way, what the heck are we doing….
The below information is certainly not meant to be inclusive. It is general information that I gathered as I say in a few hours, I have drawn from sources such as NIH for chemical ingredients and compound, and directly from the source(s) sites as included. The related articles at the bottom are just the bare bones absolute surface articles that I have had time to find to date, if we all join forces with our information and insights, as I know there is so much knowledge in our community, we can reinvent life on the Shuswap and stop Clearview and it’s Billion dollar Industry in its tracks.
A couple more items to note before getting into the Clearview information, I was a board member on the Adams River Salmon Society from 2013 to 2017, I don’t recall ever discussing the topic of chemical sprays. I have reached out to the current Board three times now via email and have not yet heard back. I have also reached out several times now to the Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society, funding the sprays, to acquire additional information around the sprays, I have not yet heard back.
The Intention of this petition is to create awareness and community dialogue around the spraying of chemicals and in particular this chemical composition. If there is consensus of concern and it is supported by the community. I will bring the concern forward to the appropriate bodies asap. If anyone would like to support through your shares, voices, ideas, counter arguments, or anything in between, please reach out to me directly via lifeforceenergy888@gmail.com
OK, here is what I have gathered...
TOXIC HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL CLEARVIEW HERBICIDES NEEDS TO GO!
Clearview herbicide kills nearly all broadleaf plants, including native plants, bushes, and any farm crops it comes into contact with. This includes all the flowering plants that provide a source of nectar for our pollinators, including parasitic insects that function as bio-controls for agricultural pests such as aphids, slugs, whiteflies and weevils. ClearView has a predilection for killing leguminous plants, such as soybeans, alfalfa and clover. It is also known to negatively affect Bees, Ants, and worms.
It is TOXIC to Aquatic Life and ClearView must, on no account, be used near water or during rainy weather because it takes many months to break down (over 500 days in soil) and, is toxic to aquatic life and once it enters a wetland, pond, lake, stream or river, it destroys all the aquatic plants that grow there. Since roadsides are, for the most part, ditches to catch the rain and snow which end up in our waterways, spraying them with this herbicide is a recipe for disaster.
Chemical name Common Name of Clearview ingredients as of the most recent data available (see full table of compound percentages in 2025 Clearview data Sheet below).

Kaolin
Sodium lignosulfonate
