The Issue

Stop Mandatory Sewer Tie-Ins and Unnecessary Sewage Expansion on Washington Pike

A petition is currently circulating that aims to unnecessarily expand sewage infrastructure along Washington Pike. Such expansion would ultimately force residents into costly mandatory sewer tie-ins, placing heavy financial burdens on homeowners who cannot reasonably afford these expenses.
The costs associated with mandatory tie-ins—tap fees, installation work, contractor expenses, required inspections, equipment, and ongoing monthly sewer bills—can total thousands of dollars per household. Many residents, including those on fixed incomes, would face severe financial strain if forced into these obligations. No homeowner should be threatened with penalties, liens, or forced compliance for expenses they cannot bear.

We Are Opposed to Any Expansion of Sewage Infrastructure on Washington Pike
Expanding sewage lines in this area is unnecessary, disruptive, and financially harmful. It risks forcing additional households into expensive connections they neither want nor need.

What We Stand Against
We, the undersigned, oppose:
-Any requirement forcing Washington Pike residents to tie into the public sewer system at their own cost.
-Any expansion of sewage infrastructure along Washington Pike.
Penalties, fines, or enforcement actions against residents who cannot afford mandated sewer expenses.
-Forced abandonment of safe, functioning septic systems.
-Any attempt to shift the burden of infrastructure decisions onto residents through costly mandates.
-Mandatory tie-ins and unnecessary sewage expansion place avoidable financial strain on families who are simply trying to maintain their homes without being burdened by excessive and unexpected utility costs.

Our Community Should Not Be Forced Into Debt
Residents should not face financial hardship, threats of penalty, or forced compliance for infrastructure changes they did not request and cannot afford.

Please sign this petition to tell local and county officials that you oppose:
Mandatory sewer tie-ins
Unnecessary sewage expansion on Washington Pike
Any policy that imposes unaffordable costs on homeowners
Stand with us to protect our community from unnecessary financial burdens.
