Chat control was forced through a procedural technicality. In the vote of July 2026,  the vast majority of present MEPs voted AGAINST it (314 to 276)

Passing such a mass-surveillance law against the majority’s vote of present lawmakers is a dangerous undemocratic procedure, we must take action. PRIVACY IS A RIGHT, DONT LET THEM TAKE IT FROM YOU!
