The Issue

Let’s be real: paying just to park a car where you work, learn, or get medical care is out of control.

We aren't asking for anything fancy. We’re just parking a vehicle in a spot to do things we have to do. Patients shouldn’t be charged a fee when they’re trying to get care or visit a sick family member. Doctors, nurses, and hospital staff shouldn't have to pay to park at a job where they save lives. And students and professors—who already pay thousands in tuition or dedicate their careers to teaching—shouldn't be nickeled and dimed just to walk onto campus.

Where is all this money even going? These large hospitals, colleges, and corporations already get millions in grants, tuition, state funds, and medical bills. So why are they charging everyday people just to occupy a piece of pavement?

It’s no different than having to pay for air at a gas station just to fill up your tires. It’s not about necessity; it’s about greed. You shouldn't be charged a fee just to access basic human needs.

We are calling on lawmakers, university boards, and hospital leaders to put an end to mandatory parking fees for patients, staff, students, and educators.

Please sign and share this petition if you're tired of being charged for simply showing up.
