For over 20 years Cedric McCorkle aka Chris Simms has displaced and scammed hundreds of women with children out of their security deposits, wrongfully evicted, harassed, threatened, refused repairs, rented properties to multiple tenants at once. Mr. McCorkle has taken advantage of women with children and ransacked homes, cut off utilities to force tenants to move out. He has refused to repair properties leaving tenants in deplorable conditions. His tactics have included harassing phone calls and threating fatal actions against some victims. 

In 2019 I was a victim to Mr. McCorkle. His actions caused me to be displaced an homeless with my 3 children. While waiting for my security deposit to be returned to me I lost my Section 8 voucher. Over 2K in security for a house that I later found out did not belong to him. He disguised himself as Chris Simms. Meet me in person at the Housing Office in Charlotte, NC. Pulled up in a gold sports car. Not knowing that months later he would deny ever meeting me and taking my money orders totaling close to 2K. Mr. McCorkle never turned in paperwork and when I inquired he required I pay security deposit AGAIN stating he never received money from me. I went to the police, Realtor Board, News, Housing and NO ONE would help. NO ONE. Everyone pointed fingers an ultimately made me feel like it was my fault and nothing could be done. 

This man is a licensed Realtor in the State of NC and no one is considered about his actions against low income women. He is partnered an referred by the Charlotte Housing Authority. When asked how to resolve the situation I was directed back to HIM. It took over 5 months for me to receive my deposit back. By then I had to pay more to obtain a place. I spoke to higher officials including the police chief and local politicians about this man NO HELP!. Currently 9 women have formed a group and we are looking for JUSTICE. 

We want his license taken permanently. Properties taken an sold for reparations to all his victims. HE HAS TO BE STOPPED. 

Please help us bring down this Slumlord in Charlotte, NC. Not another family should have to be displaced, harassed, threatened or robbed by this man.
