Conservative MP Ted Falk tabled a bill in June that would make Central Bank Digital Currencies illegal in Canada. CBDC's, if implemented, will be used in conjunction with social credit scores to control where we can go, what we can buy, and even our right to basics like medical care.

We must stop CBDCs!

"Bill C-400, the Framework on the Access to and Use of Cash Act, successfully passed its first reading on June 13, 2024. The bill’s sponsor, MP Ted Falk, explained that Bill C-400 would create a national framework to protect the access and use of cash in Canada. The bill would also amend the Currency Act to limit the finance minister’s ability to unilaterally call in bank notes and amend the Bank of Canada Act, prohibiting the bank from creating a digital currency."

Bill C-400 states clearly that part of its intent is to make it illegal for the Bank of Canada to issue a CBDC.

8 Section 23 of the Bank of Canada Act is renumbered as subsection 23(1) and is amended by adding the following:

Prohibition — central bank digital currency 

(2) The Bank shall not issue a digital form of the dollar.

Cash Protected

It furthermore protects the rights of Canadians to continue to use cash, regardless of what digital currencies might be available:

4.2 (b) protect the ability of persons in Canada to continue to use cash despite the availability of digital currencies, including cryptocurrencies;

Summary of Bill

This enactment provides for the development and implementation of a framework to ensure that cash continues to be available throughout Canada.

It also amends the Currency Act and the Bank of Canada Act to remove the Governor in Council’s power to call in coins and notes. Finally, it amends the Bank of Canada Act to prohibit the Bank of Canada from issuing a digital form of the dollar.
