A new Canadian Armed Forces policy that bars military chaplains from offering faith-specific prayers at official events with mandatory personnel attendance is drawing a response from military faith advisers as well as calls in Ottawa for its reversal.
The policy includes events such as graduation parades and change-of-command ceremonies, ship commissionings, honours ceremonies, mess dinners, and Remembrance Day commemorations.
Bill C-9: An Act to amend the Criminal Code (hate propaganda, hate crime and access to religious or cultural places)
Protects the freedom of religion, expression, peaceful assembly and right to liberty, unreasonable search and seizure and not to be denied reasonable bail without cause.

How the Charter Protects You
