With about $850 Billion worth of oil the United States has purchased from Russia in the last year it can be argued that we financed Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Russian government has wanted Ukraine and its wealth for a long time and will always want that and all of the other countries it annexed at one time or another, and more. The only way to stop that is to make sure they can't afford to wage war. The United States should immediately undo the failed policies that have made us dependent on foreign oil, especially from Russia and Europe should restart their nuclear power plants and stop buying Russian oil and natural gas. The United States should continue work on the natural gas pipeline to Europe that planning was started on during the Trump administration. The increased use of natural gas during that time was the only thing done that had a significant positive action on decreasing carbon emissions. We need these things done as quickly as possible.
