Small businesses should succeed because they earn their customers, not because another business found a way to push them out.

Too many business owners feel like complaints and city processes can be used as a weapon instead of a tool for public safety. If a business is breaking the law or putting people in danger, it should absolutely be held accountable. But no lawful business should lose its livelihood based on unsupported complaints, unfair targeting, or anti-competitive tactics.

We're calling on Kansas City leaders to strengthen due process, require evidence before serious enforcement action is taken, and protect businesses from being unfairly targeted by competitors.
