Stop bullying Indian children at Kearsney College Hillcrest

The Issue

Recent incidents at Kearsney College in Hillcrest have brought to light a distressing issue: many Indian children have faced bullying due to their racial and ethnic backgrounds. As a concerned community, we can no longer stand by and let these children suffer in an environment that should be nurturing and educational. Specific reports have emerged of Indian children being systematically bullied, particularly by certain White, English-speaking rugby players. This racial discrimination is not only unacceptable but has caused significant harm, leading to numerous students dropping out of school due to the hostile atmosphere.

The Truth and Solidarity Movement strongly condemns these actions, as they contribute to a broader pattern of racism persisting against the Indian minority in South Africa as we approach 2025. Indian individuals are equally South African and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, free from discrimination based on their skin color or ethnic background.

We are calling on Kearsney College to acknowledge this issue and extend a formal apology to the affected students and their families. Furthermore, we demand the implementation of comprehensive anti-bullying measures and regular sensitivity training for all students and faculty. By fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect, we can ensure that every child receives a quality education without fear of harassment.

Together, we have the power to drive change and make Kearsney College a safe and welcoming environment for all students, regardless of their race or ethnicity. Join us in standing against bullying and racism. Please sign this petition to demand justice and equality for Indian children at Kearsney College.
