Stop biased treatment between dog and cat breeds

Stop biased treatment between dog and cat breeds
The Issue
Many dog and cat breeds are not getting equal affection, especially from their owners. It causes the animals to become abandoned or die without a human's care. Lots of humans use stereotypes when it comes to breeds, like pit bulls; they are seen as "dangerous" and not easily tamed, Rottweilers who have big body frames, and people tend to think they will bite with no hesitation, and cats are seen as feral and who have black hair are seen as "bad luck.". Some people adopt animals for trends, some owners face discrimination because of the breed they’re taking care of, and owners who had emotional distress rehomed their pets due to house restrictions; it also has impacts on not adopting these animals and causes burdens for the animal welfare groups who help rescue stray animals and shelters where the strays will stay for the meantime, and because of these, these animals face negative impacts from other people and have a low tendency to get adopted.
Without a change, there are lots of missed connections between a human and animals; humans will miss an opportunity to love more animals and get to know different breeds; animals will have less legal protections, and for the owners who try to protect them. They will stay longer in the shelter rather than getting adopted fast. Public and housing areas will continue restricting animals. The same bad perceptions about them will spread more, and this will discourage people from adopting them.
With a change, these animals will have an equal chance of finding a loving home. People's perceptions towards the breeds will focus more on the individual rather than the stereotypes on them. Animals will have better housing opportunities rather than make the owners rehome their pets with no choice. Higher adoption rates and lower euthanasia. Irresponsible pet owners will be more focused on going to jail rather than letting owners do what they want with their pets. In short, eliminating breed biases will create a fairer, more humane world where every pet has an equal chance at a loving home—regardless of breed.
Now is the time to act before more animal breeds get the same treatment as others who didn’t deserve what they experienced; taking action will help to reshape policies and ensure cats and dogs will receive respect and care like what they deserve.
