The Issue
This seems like a weird problem to want to solve, but if you go to any Klein ISD schools, you know what I'm talking about.
Whenever I try to log in to chess.com, I get this. This did not happen last year! And this isn't the only site affected by this. Klein has been doing this on more and more sites through the years. We don't know why, other than they want to keep us focused and don't plan on telling us. It makes sense that they don't want us getting distracted, but they can't keep us working our butts off for 7 hours a day straight with ONE break for lunch (and recess, if you're still in elementary school). Other grades have a study hall, but we often work during that. At least allow it after school or on weekends, or better yet, have the teachers decide when to block and unblock whichever websites. They shouldn't be able to control us like this.
For this site, I would argue that chess is a mind-sharpening strategy game—so much so that some consider it an art.
We hope to convince the authorities to remove this authorization error on as many sites as possible and only allow teachers to control our computers during certain times of the school day. Now is the time to act! If you feel the same, sign this petition!
