I am starting this petition because I am unhappy as a homeowner, and I am one of many at Ashley Village. We are demanding a change in the new parking policy (with a permit). It does not make any sense when we have assigned parking spaces. My car was towed out of my parking space in front of my house (as if it was being repossessed). Our parking spaces are numbered with our home address on them. So that's why this is so confusing. Why have a parking permit, when we already have assigned parking? This situation had me calling Chesterfield Police because I thought my car was stolen. I never would have thought my car would be towed for not illegally parking, for not parking in the wrong place, and not for any wrongdoing. It was towed because a permit was not hanging from my rearview mirror. If someone can please make sense of this, I'll listen. But, for now, it does not make ANY sense to me. This caused me to miss time from work and would've caused my daughter to miss time from school. What is the towing supposed to solve? At this point, I am just seeing homeowner who is parking in their parking spaces getting upset when they come out of their houses in the morning and do not see their car in their parking space that is in front of their house. Residences should have the right to park in their parking spaces according to their address and not worry about getting towed. What our HOA is doing right now, having On Time Towing come into our parking lots and tow our vehicles out in the early morning for no illegal reasons is not acceptable. But our HOA members told them to do it, doesn't matter if you are parked in your parking space or not. It is all about the permit that they issued.

not including the homeowner's input. How can 2 people make this strong decision about our community? Ashley Village homeowners also get a vote.  I do not remember signing anything saying I wanted this type of parking amendment. As a resident of Ashley Village for over 25 years, I can say I never had my car towed from parking in front of my house, until now. I would go to bed at night feeling satisfied knowing my vehicle would be where I parked it when I left in the morning. Not now, I have seen a young lady leaving her house and going to where her car was parked, finding out it was not there. As you can imagine she was highly upset. Someone caught on camera two tow trucks coming into our parking lot with their lights off like thieves in the night. Towing cars from their parking spaces. They know it isn't right, but they are getting paid with our money to tow our cars for NO REASON, we have parking spaces, I pay taxes I pay a mortgage where I live and I am allowed to park in my parking space that has my address on it. 

I recently spoke to a Chesterfield Police Officer and he advised me to take out a petition on our HOA because what they are doing is rather harsh. He advised they do not even tow cars like that, they put a warning sticker on cars first. Unless they are illegally parking. I want this petition to be read carefully and decide whether this permit parking is really working or is just causing more problems for the homeowners of Ashley Village. Remember we get to vote for what happens in our community too. I pay taxes on this property that I live on and so do the other homeowners.
