The City of Argo is trying to Zone our small town. Citizens were not formally contacted by the City to notify them of this process. Instead, a few posts were made on a private Facebook group that not everyone is a member of, or even looks at on a daily basis. When asked why the public didn't receive mailers, a former Councilman stated, "They said it would be too expensive". This has been an egregious waste of the towns money that could have funded the current infrastructure that is failing and has been for many years. Zoning our small town will only open the door to Government over reach in the future. On 4/18/23, our town adamantly spoke out against this process and begged it to stop. We were met with straight faces and smirks by our Mayor, Council, and Zoning Committee. This will turn us into another dystopian nightmare like our neighbors Trussville and Springville.
