This Petition is in support of the existing Vision 2050 general Plan, developed in 2019, which leaves the property/business, known as Earthworks, and the residential property to the south of Earthworks as they are currently zoned.

Addresses requesting a zone change are: Earthworks- 2751 So. 1000 W. (Commercial.  In addition the Residential property - 2755 So. 1000 W. (R-2)

The purpose of this petition is to stop any zone change from Commercial and residential (R-2) low density to and Industrial zone or to a potential Commercial zone change for the R-2, with possible plans to expand even further.

The reason for opposing this change is the negative effects it would have on our neighborhood and city. This would create and Island zone which goes in opposition to any good city plan.  This also sets a bad precedent, city-wide as it has the potential of spreading.  ANY change would really increase the danger for our children and adults going to and from school, sporting, and other activities at the park across the street and church activities.  It would increase noise, air, land, water & glare pollution in the area.  As they build their business, it will increase traffic more than it has in an already congested area.  Health of our neighborhood and neighbors is a deep concern, as well as the negative impact and rippling effect on the value of homes in the area.  There are other areas in Syracuse already zoned Industrial. Let's keep Industrial area where there is low impact on residential and school areas. 

We respectfully request the Planning Commission and City Council the REJECT any proposed change in zoning these two properties. PLEASE, KEEP IT AS IT IS CURRENTLY ZONED.
