As a concerned citizen and animal lover, I have been deeply disturbed by the conditions reported at the Fauna Friends Pet Shop in Beloit, WI. Multiple people have reported inadequate enclosures, lack of proper food and clean water for pets to drink & fish to swim in. There are also concerns about incorrect bedding, lack of hiding areas for prey type animals to feel safe, overcrowding within enclosures and mixed types of animals sharing spaces.

Furthermore, there is an alarming issue with unsafe equipment such as hay racks for guinea pigs and health concerns regarding wounds & dietary issues amongst the animals. It has also been noted that private pets are allowed free roam in & out of shop which can lead to further health risks.

These conditions not only violate ethical standards but also potentially infringe on animal welfare laws. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), pet shops must provide adequate care including proper housing, handling, sanitation, nutrition and veterinary care. We feel veterinary records should be shown to authorities and public. 

This petition calls on local authorities and animal welfare organizations in Beloit to investigate these claims immediately and take necessary action against any proven neglect or abuse at Fauna Friends Pet Shop.
