I've witnessed too many instances of cruelty against animals, and enough is enough. The recent heartbreaking case of Chutou, a defenseless family dog stolen and slaughtered in China, has left me and many others around the world in profound shock and anger, this happens even to strays everyday. This petition seeks justice for Chutou and his owner, Guo, and aims to prompt action against the rampant animal cruelty in China and the dog and cat meat eating industry.

Chutou's tragic fate is not an isolated incident. According to a report by Animals Asia, millions of animals suffer from neglect, abuse, and violence in China each year. Dogs, cats, and other animals are often victims of cruel practices and it’s time for meaningful change.

The Chinese government has taken steps in recent years to improve animal welfare legislation, but enforcement and public awareness remain significantly lacking and weak. Data from the World Animal Protection indicates that China’s current legal system affords minimal protections to domestic animals and have regarded animal as property. The need for comprehensive animal welfare laws is urgent. Justice to chutou and other animals who have suffered the same fate is needed! 

We can make a difference by demanding  a total ban on the cat and dog meat industry and the cessation of animal cruelty and the implementation of stringent laws to protect our fellow creatures.

Let’s urge the Chinese authorities to not only bring Chutou's murderers to justice but also to establish stronger animal protection regulations. This includes setting up a task force specifically aimed at combating animal abuse cases and launching nationwide educational campaigns to promote compassion and empathy for animals among the populace.
