At my school, we have been learning about conserving resources, and it really got me thinking about how serious air pollution is. Many people don’t realize how much polluted air impacts both humans and the environment.

Over 8.1 million people suffer premature deaths caused by air pollution, and 2,000 children die from it each year. These numbers are alarming, and if we don’t take action, they will only continue to rise.

As you can see, air pollution is a serious issue, and something needs to be done. That’s why I am asking you to join me in the fight to stop air pollution.

Here are some ways you can help:

• Check air quality alerts so you know when to limit activities like driving or using excessive energy.

• Turn off your car engine when it’s not in use to reduce unnecessary emissions.

• Use hand-powered or solar-powered lawn mowers instead of gas-powered ones to cut down on air pollution.
