SPASH is a high school located in a majority white community, and issues of racism get swept under the rug out of non-relevance. Still, SPASH has a responsibility to fight anti-Blackness, racism, and sexism within its curriculum as well as its school halls. At the hands of inadequate policies and careless school administration, marginalized students have suffered daily. There have been smaller, organized efforts pushed daily by these students to challenge and fight racist and sexist administration, but we have been constantly ignored because we do not have the strength in numbers. It is time these issues become publicly recognized as unacceptable.
