Re-open playgrounds

Re-open playgrounds
The Issue
The people of Nevada have shown that we can maintain social distancing on trails, at splash pads, and throughout the beautiful outdoor spaces in our state. We need an opportunity to prove that we can maintain social distancing at playgrounds as well. It would give the children of Nevada a much-needed boost, in this time of distance learning, social isolation, and uncertainty, if they could run and play on playgrounds.
I've reached out to the City of Henderson's Parks department, and the employee I spoke with said they are waiting for further guidance from Governor Sisolak before they are allowed to open playgrounds. This petition urges Governor Sisolak's office to give city governments the authority to make decisions about re-opening city playgrounds.
Playgrounds do not need to be fully sanitized each day. Rather, let's put up signage reminding people of the need for physical distancing, that the playground equipment is not regularly sanitized, and that they play at their own risk. Playgrounds are re-opening in other places (like New York City) with similar signage.
By signing this petition, you're showing your support for the re-opening of our local playgrounds. Please, Governor Sisolak, trust the parents of Nevada to make choices for our children. Please re-open playgrounds! Our kids need to play!
