MORE than 3,000 ADOS and allies have signed!

Recently, Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee introduced into the House of Representatives H.R.40 - the Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act. In it's current form, the resolution needs serious revisions.

H.R. 40 has been referred to the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Tennessee Congressman Steve Cohen leads the subcommittee. And Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee is a member.

The time to move forward on H.R. 40 is NOW. There can be no further delay. Steve Cohen and Sheila Jackson Lee must advance H.R. 40 immediately while working with leading #ADOS advocates to strengthen the legislation.

We're calling for Cohen and Lee to move H.R. 40 forward by scheduling and holding hearings on the resolution so that much needed amendments can be introduced, heard and adopted.

The time to move forward on H.R. 40 is NOW. Our very existence as American descendants of slavery, as citizens, and as a people, hangs in the balance.
