Sheila Jackson Lee was an American lawyer and politician who served as the U.S. representative for Texas's 18th congressional district from 1995 until her death in 2024. Born in 1950, she was a prominent member of the Democratic Party. Jackson Lee held the position of at-large member on the Houston City Council from 1990 to 1995 and served as an Associate Municipal Court Judge from 1987 to 1990. She was also recognized as the co-dean of Texas's congressional delegation.
