Stop the reassessment of young adults with lifelong disabilities from DLA to PIP.

Stop the reassessment of young adults with lifelong disabilities from DLA to PIP.
The Issue
Many young adults with life long disabilities and learning disabilities, are now required to apply for the new Personal Independence Payment despite having being previously awarded Disability Living Allowance for life. These young adults have life long disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, physical disabilities and learning disabilities, and will require care for the rest of their lives. The process of claiming for any disability benefit is distressing for both the individuals and their carers, these young adults should not be required to reapply for new benefits, they were previously entitled to, for life. All should be automatically transferred from DLA to PIP.
Both my son and daughter, who have life long disabilities, including autism, will be subject to reassessment, this is unfair and is causing unnecessary distress to individuals, families and carers.
