Petition updateProtect Philly's Pop-Up Beer GardensRep. Taylor is feeling the heat, but still won't back down

Here's a quick update on our campaign:
Republican Rep. John Taylor - one of the four lawmakers leading the attack on pop-up beer gardens - told Newsworks he's gotten more angry calls about pop-ups than any other issue.
"In his almost 30 years in office, he said he has gotten more input on this issue than any other: 'More than education, more than the cigarette tax, more than budgets, more than anything. Which is surprising.'"

It's not surprising - Taylor went public with a position that has zero public support, and now he's feeling the heat from you. We are getting to him.
But he's still not backing off this issue, and still wants to bring up a bill later this fall when you aren't paying attention.
"Whether the pop-up beer gardens will be around next summer will likely be up for debate in the state Legislature in the coming months. If the PLCB does not apply more scrutiny to pop-ups in the future, Taylor said, the General Assembly should "change the law to allow them or to find a way to disallow them."
There's not going to be any legislative debate if we have anything to do with it.
We don't need a watered-down "compromise" proposal -- we need the PLCB to issue an opinion that the permits are being used legally, and we need Rep. Taylor and friends to retreat from this issue and stop inventing fake problems.
Clearly we need to keep applying pressure. Can you help us get to 3500 signatures by the end of the day? We're using the money some of you generously donated to us to run a Facebook ad campaign through the end of the month. If you want to help us turn up the volume, make a donation when you claim your free ticket to our Young Progressive Philly happy hour on August 5. If Taylor and friends still won't back down by the end of the month, we'll run a radio ad education voters about the issue. Stay tuned.
