Humans are complicated, very complicated! There is no reason to allow anyone in this country to torture any animal and not pay the price. I don't just want to punish the abuser but more than anything try to eliminate the problem as much as possible. Anyone who leaves an animal chained in the sun or cold and without food or water, throws an animal out the window of a vehicle, places an animal in a dumpster, stabs a living horse for it's meat or abandons a pet on the side of the road to fend for itself will receive 20 years in jail. Once again the goal here is to eradicate this problem as much as possible. Post the law all over for all to see on highway billboards, tv, social media. Get the word out! The punishment now for these crimes is a slap on the wrist, a fine and maybe some jail time. What a joke! If you feel for animals the way I do you will agree. ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM DON'T JUST ADDRESS THE INDIVIDUAL CRIME! If you think this is too harsh then continue with the same old same old. That is sad and embarrassing! At times I try to list all the things dogs do for us but I find the list of what they don't do for us is shorter! What else can you ask for? They have absolutely no one to speak up for them. They haven't a clue where they are going when picked up in a shelter but they go anyway. And with their tails wagging! They could care less what color you are, the money you have, where you live, your religion, your looks. All they want is to be with you! Humans are you listening?
