Suspend construction of the Fort Ord Dunes State Park campground.
The Issue
The construction of 45 RV sites, 43 tent sites and 10 hike/bike sites on the Ford Ord Dunes State Beach will cause massive destruction to the wildlife and vegetation of the surrounding area. The influx of people will bring pollution and disruption to the beautiful secluded areas and decrease our water, air and soil quality. Wastewater from the campground is estimated to peak at 22,124 gallons per day. Californians are in a drought and simply cannot afford to waste water on frivolous things like this. Please petition to stop the urbanization, or rather destruction, of our natural land and beach. By signing this petition we are fighting for the preservation of nature and the health of the environment.
