Kiara Graham started this petition to State Legislation and

1. The prohibition of marijuana has roots in institutionalized racism and has served as a societal mechanism to oppress both people of color and other minority populations, such as the lowest socio-economic classes in society.*
2. Our nation has already shown progress in efforts toward safely regulating the sale of marijuana, so what we ask is not overtly radical.
3. During the global pandemic, those in power publicly monopolized off the sale of marijuana as ‘essential business’. Meanwhile countless American citizens, predominately people of color, suffered through continued incarceration for the non-violent crime that subsists in some states, as the trade and sale of marijuana.
4. We have a duty, as a collective people, to vote out politicians and regulatory bodies that do not hear this plea for reformation.

** 70 percent of Indiana residents have already made their voices loud and clear! We are ready to decriminalized, and or legalize this herbal healing plant. Indiana residents also need to consider that the Governor is not ready to push forward with a new vision. He has already spoke about not legalizing marijuana. He would rather have his residents hooked on opioids than taking into consideration of what could possibly cure diseases and help medicate his people in safer ways. Also all the money and funds it would bring to the stare itself. Please take this into consideration when you are out to the POLLS this ELECTION make your voices loud and clear. We do matter and our voices will be heard. If you want our votes you have to LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR PEOPLE actually want and earn them.
