I have lived in Ellenbrook since 2009 and I work in Osborne Park. We are a one car family, therefore I catch public transport from Ellenbrook to Osborne Park each day. This involves a bus from Ellenbrook to Bassendean Train Station, a train from Bassendean to Perth Train Station and then a train from Perth Underground Station to Glendalough Station. If the weather is poor when I arrive at Glendalough I then need to catch a bus to the office. This means on some days I catch two trains and two buses to get from home to work! Then there's the commute back! On average this commute takes me between 1 hr and 25 minutes and 1hr and 40 minutes each morning. Google maps indicates the trip from Ellenbrook to Osborne Park should take between 35 and 50 minutes, depending on traffic of course, with the route taken being the much more direct option of Gnangara Road and Wanneroo Road and/or the Mitchell Freeway. To get to work at the moment I'm basically doing a 'horseshoe' shape when it really should be a straightish line toward the coast! I seriously believe there would be significant support in Ellenbrook for a Transperth bus service to travel from Main Street/the Ellenbrook Transfer Station to a central point along the Joondalup train line - perhaps Warwick, Whitfords or Joondalup stations - at least once, if not several times each weekday morning.
