There are currently portable long service leave platforms in place for the construction and cleaning industry in every state.  Makes sense, they are mostly contractors moving from job to job. 

So why not tax practitioners, including income tax and BAS agents?  While essentially agents of the ATO, we are mostly self-employed and contracting with numerous clients. 

A career choice like any other that can span many decades.

Yet no reward for the long-term service.

So please join me in signing this petition to bring the conversation to the table with the ATO and the Taxation Commissioner.  Please share with your local bookkeeping/accounting networks; Industry Associations; etc.

With enough interest from fellow agents, we can take this to the ATO and hopefully earn reward for our long-term service.
