The Issue

This petition has been created to start a National Animal Health Service (NAHS) to provide free veterinary care to all animals when the cost is over £500.
This may be supported via taxable rates such as the NHS. Providing all animal owners the ability to save their pets lives. Many animals are put to sleep unnecessarily due to the high veterinary costs currently in place, with a lot of insurance companies not paying out the full cost of treatment and usually have limits per conditions. As well as this, veterinary hospitals require 50% of estimated treatment costs up front and will then only consider monthly payment plans on an individual basis after that.

My cockapoo was diagnosed with nasal lymphoma at only 19 months old and the total cost of her treatment was £9,350. This included CT scans, medications, radiotherapy and all other medicinal requirements during and after treatment.
