Start a Missing Persons Task Force

Start a Missing Persons Task Force
The Issue
In Sumter, South Carolina, there are currently twenty missing people in our town. One case dates all the way back to August 1978 (Maxi Graham) and the most recent case dating back to December 2020 (Brent Garcia).
With so many unsolved cases, some still actually open and still undergoing investigation, a movement dubbed #BRENTSARMY has begun to help bring awareness to our town's missing.
#BRENTSARMY began after the disappearance of Jackson "Brent" Garcia on December 26, 2020. We are made up of a community that has dedicated their time to helping bring Brent home, which has also incited the hashtag movement #BringBrentHome.
One of our most used slogans amongst us is "Be the light," which is a way of saying we want to be the light that leads them all home.
While we of #BRENTSARMY thoroughly enjoy and love helping the missing's loved ones to the upmost of our abilities, we know that there is, sadly, only so much we can do to help bring them all home.
Our missing deserves to come home - each and every one of the twenty. So, we of #BRENTSARMY are trying to work at getting the community's attention in hopes that, somehow, we can get Sumter Police Department and Sumter County Sheriff's Office to come together and create a task force.
This task force we are hoping for would review case files, including witness statements, reinterview people of interest, conducting a more thorough investigation, and aim to give answers to questions that are past due.
This petition has been created in hopes that we can get enough signatures to capture the attention of the appropriate people to begin a special task force solely dedicated to the missing people of Sumter, SC.
Please sign to help #BRENTSARMY get some signatures and help work even harder to bring the missing home!
