More than two gender choices on Starfall

The Issue

Take a look at this. If you didn't know, it's to "create yourself" on a popular children's' learning website. Notice anything? There are only two options: "Girl" and "Boy." From there, "Boys" must choose traditionally masculine hairstyles and colored clothes, and "Girls" must choose traditionally feminine hairstyles and skirts. This does several things. One, it enforces gender stereotypes on the child taking it. Girls must like pink and purple and have long hair, as well as wear skirts. Boys, on the other hand, must enjoy shorter hairstyles and more masculine colors. In addition to this, refer back to my first point, that there's only two options. Unlike many other websites, there is no "other," no "x." Not only does that teach kids that there's only two genders (which there isn't,) it leaves them unprepared for the day in which they will. Maybe they'll think it's weird, or unnatural. Recently, an idea has been going around. That hate is taught. I agree. While not being so drastic, Starfall enforces gender norms and the idea that there are only two genders. This could, potentially, lead to hate in future generations. Please support my mission to have Starfall add more options to their website, and break out of this cycle.
