I was 3 years old when I fell in love with dipping Mother’s Chocolate Chip cookies into a cup of warm milk. I could eat them on a chilly morning, I could eat them in the summer, I could eat them at night, I could eat them through the seasons. Fast forward to a couple of years and they discontinue them. I felt broken. I’ll never know if it was the nostalgia that those cookies brought to my life, or if they were really my favorite snack, but there I was at 6-8 years old wanting to create a petition demanding they be put back on grocery store shelves! That same year, miraculously, they were brought back. It’s like I was being heard without having to put up a fight. 

I still eat them today.

I share this story Starbucks, because apparently my favorite refresher has been discontinued. Being nearly an everyday consumer, I had been going through drive thru asking for one of my usuals- Venti Very Berry Hibiscus with 2 scoops of dragon fruit and your employees would simply respond with a “I’m sorry we’re all out,” until one has the audacity to state that you’ve discontinued my drink. Their voice pierced through my body as they let out each and every word through the speaker (shout out to John in Salinas). 

As I sit here messing with my peachybbies slime to let off some stress, I plead that you don’t break me like Mother’s did for a rough couple of years.
