Bubble tea has been around for about 40 years after tapioca pearls were invented by Taiwanese Teahouse founder Liu Han-Chieh in 1983. This drink is now immensely popular among Generation Z as an “aesthetic” beverage, but often times they are only found in large cities. Small towns with Thai/Vietnamese/Taiwanese/other Asian immigrants often cannot maintain their privately owned businesses and close within a short period of time.

However, Starbucks is always trying to come up with new drinks to draw in customers. This multi-million dollar company with nearly 30,000 stores worldwide is more than capable of serving milk tea with tapioca bobas.

My proposition is to tell Starbucks to make several Bubble Tea flavors available for a limited time. This will help local Asian-American owned restaurants gain traction with customers to buy the delicious drink once it is no longer available at the international coffee/tea chain. Small business funds could skyrocket, and your signature could make this difference!
