Stanford-le-Hope residents and many other towns to the west of the region have been asking for a safer, traffic free and above all, carbon neutral route to Pitsea for years. With the building of a cycle and footbridge over Vange creek from the Fobbing marshes, this bridge will see a round robin route created specifically to connect the two national cycling routes, 13 and 16 respectively, in a project using the Manorway road as a shared cycleway to Wat Tyler Country Park and Canvey.

The route goes out to Fobbing Horse where there is a footpath connection to the WW2 bombing decoy and the views from the creek are a sight to behold from both sides of the bridge especially on Summer nights. With onward connections to Canvey or Southend plus backward connections to East Tilbury and West Thurrock, this bridge could become a pivotal landmark for Thurrock as part of the Costal Path around the United Kingdom.

The Manorway at 100 project is a five year plan to see the bridge in place and the whole route complete by the time the original manorway will be 100 years old in 2025. It can only be achieved with your support.
