Standing Against Bullying

Standing Against Bullying
The Issue
We are the Grade 11 students from St. Nicholas Catholic School of Anda, and we are raising our concern about the ongoing problem of bullying among students not only in our school but in every school. Bullying whether physical, verbal, social, or online continues to harm many students and creates an unsafe learning environment. Some students experience teasing, harassment, and cyberbullying, which often go unreported due to fear, shame, or lack of support.
Bullying has serious effects on students’ mental health, confidence, and academic performance. Victims of bullying may experience anxiety, low self-esteem, fear of going to school, and difficulty concentrating in class. In some cases, bullying can lead to long-term emotional trauma and poor school engagement. A school environment where bullying is tolerated prevents students from reaching their full potential.
We believe that schools have a responsibility to protect students and promote a culture of respect and kindness. We respectfully call on school administrators and education authorities to strengthen anti-bullying programs by implementing clear policies, conducting regular awareness seminars, and ensuring that guidance counselors and teachers are trained to handle bullying cases properly. Reporting systems should be safe and confidential so that students feel encouraged to speak up.
By taking firm action against bullying, schools can create safer and more inclusive learning environments where students feel respected, supported, and valued. A community that promotes empathy and accountability helps students grow not only academically but also emotionally and socially. We urge schools to prioritize anti-bullying initiatives to protect the well-being of every student.
