Standardize Macomb Township's Noise Control Ordinance with Neighboring Areas
The Issue
As a resident of Macomb Township, I am deeply concerned by the intent of the original sound/noise control ordinance draft, especially in relation to religious institutions. This is not just my personal struggle; many of our residents who work from home, struggle with autism, work night shifts, and suffer from PTSD are also impacted by this issue. The noise levels and frequency of announcements can be disruptive to our daily lives and overall wellbeing.
Our neighboring townships and villages such as Sterling Heights, Rochester, Shelby Township, Washington, Romeo, Utica, Clinton Township, New Haven, and New Baltimore have adopted effective sound/noise control ordinances that take into account the needs of all their residents.
We are simply requesting that our township aligns its sound/noise control ordinance with those already successfully implemented in our neighboring areas. This would be a significant step towards creating a more peaceful environment for all.
Please join us in urging the local authorities to revise Macomb’s sound/noise control ordinance draft accordingly. Sign this petition today and join us for the We Demand Transparency and to be Heard rally/march on Wednesday, March 22nd at 6:00 in front of the Macomb Township Rec center where we will begin our March to the township hall.
