The Badger-Hawkeye Region Red Cross Workers (Lacrosse, Green Bay, Madison East, Madison West, Pewaukee, Stevens Point, and Dubuque, IA) have been trying to negotiate a fair contract with the American Red Cross since their contract expired in September of 2021. So far, Red Cross has only met with their workers’ bargaining committee once.

They have ignored workers’ emails, scheduled meetings over bargaining sessions, and repeatedly canceled meetings despite having over a month's notice as to the date and time. They have not compensated workers on the bargaining committee when they take time off to meet and negotiate. 

Red Cross workers are chronically understaffed and underpaid. There is a blood shortage in this country because the American Red Cross is doing NOTHING to support their workers and retain staff. THE RED CROSS NEEDS A BETTER CONTRACT FOR ITS WORKERS NOW. With better pay, better training schedules, better PTO, and better day-to-day scheduling Red Cross workers could safely accomplish their vital work. These changes can only be made if the American Red Cross meets with The Badger-Hawkeye Bargaining Committee and negotiates a contract that MEETS THE WORKERS' NEEDS.
