A Call for Justice, Dignity and Accessible Healthcare
The Endosulfan tragedy in Kasaragod is not merely an environmental disaster of the past. It is a continuing human crisis affecting victims, children, families and caregivers who continue to live with its consequences.

For decades, communities in Kasaragod were exposed to aerial spraying of Endosulfan over the cashew plantations. The consequences have included severe health complications, congenital conditions, neurological and developmental disabilities, and long-term care needs among affected families.

Even today, access to specialized healthcare remains a major concern. The report records that Kasaragod has lacked functional tertiary and super-specialty medical facilities, compelling critically ill patients to travel to Mangaluru or distant districts of Kerala for specialized treatment.

WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE ENDOSULFAN VICTIMS
Inspired by the longstanding struggle of social activist Daya Bhai and the demands raised for the people of Kasaragod, Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences, Kakkanad, in association with Daya Bai Foundation, is organizing this Digital Signature Campaign.

WE DEMAND:
1. AIIMS FOR KASARAGOD
Kasaragod must be included in Kerala's proposal for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to address the district's longstanding deficit in tertiary and super-specialty healthcare.

2. FULLY FUNCTIONAL SPECIALIZED HEALTHCARE
The Kasaragod Medical College at Ukkinadka must be fully operationalized with adequate infrastructure, equipment and specialist medical professionals, including services in neurology, pediatrics, oncology and rehabilitation.

3. DECENTRALIZED CARE FOR VICTIMS
Day-care centres, palliative care, physiotherapy and rehabilitation services must be made accessible across the district so that bedridden victims and families do not have to travel long distances for essential care.

4. IDENTIFICATION AND INCLUSION OF ALL VICTIMS
Regular and transparent medical screening camps must be conducted to identify overlooked victims, process pending cases and assess children and others who may have been excluded from existing support mechanisms.

5. JUSTICE AND DIGNITY FOR AFFECTED FAMILIES
All eligible victims must receive the compensation, healthcare, rehabilitation and social support to which they are entitled, without unnecessary administrative delays.
