The issue
In the late 1990s, my life took a traumatic turn when government-sanctioned victim services chose to disregard the truth and allow fraudulent victim statements to prevail. Officer E. Young coerced a witness statement out of me, creating a false victim narrative that has haunted me for nearly three decades. It's stories like mine that highlight the systemic failures and negligence towards male survivors, often resulting in further trauma instead of healing and justice.
Today, I am compelled by both justice and my own experiences to address another emerging threat: the platforming of "Minor Attracted Persons" (MAPs). This terminology attempts to normalize disturbing and dangerous behavior under the guise of acceptance and understanding.
We must stand united against the MAP platform—a notion that seeks to undermine the safety and innocence of children, making them vulnerable to exploitation under pseudo-psychological rhetoric. Our commitment as a society should always be to protect children and support survivors with all available resources.
It's deeply concerning that more than three decades after my own ordeal began, our society continues to witness the insufficient protection of children and injustice towards survivors. We need to take a firm and collective stand now before more lives are impacted.
I urge that immediate actions be taken:
1. Recognize and formally oppose the legitimization of MAPs in our communities and legal frameworks.
2. Strengthen laws and policies that protect children from any form of exploitation and abuse.
3. Ensure comprehensive support services for survivors, especially male survivors who are often overlooked.
4. Educate the public about the dangers of normalizing MAP rhetoric and promote awareness about protecting children.
We have a responsibility to ours and future generations to create safer environments. We must not allow twisted justification of harmful desires to infiltrate our society. Stand with me in this urgent call to action to protect our children from any potential threats posed by these dangerous ideologies.
