The Issue

Did you know 73% of teens are on YouTube daily? That’s only one app! Don’t  they deserve to grow up in spaces that don't cause more harm. That don’t glorify critique and simultaneously disregard protecting them and ensuring they are safe. I bring this angle to perspective because if we allow this to happen how much harm does this ensure for our younger generations?
- This is a honest question.

There's a website publicly exposing and blaming a violent sexual assault survivor. It's focus is on the victim . Combing through sexual history and perceived appetite to not only blame but to shame and excuse what happened . It’s absolutely atrocious! As if the experience wasn’t enough already this website is a secondary trauma—adding harassment and re-traumatization on top of it. That's not accountability. That's cruelty.

I started a petition asking the creators to remove this site and any content that targets survivors. Real accountability means fixing broken systems and preventing future harm—not destroying the people brave enough to speak up.

Anyone else think this crossed a line? What would you want someone to do if this was your family member trying to heal? If this matters to you too, consider signing and sharing.

We, the undersigned, call on the creators and operators of the website www.whathappenedatnanocon2025.com to remove the website and any content that contributes to victim blaming, harassment, or the unnecessary exposure of personal information related to an alleged sexual assault survivor. Public accountability and discussion about community safety are important. However, those efforts must not come at the expense of a person’s dignity, privacy, or ability to heal after experiencing trauma.Publishing content that identifies, targets, or encourages public scrutiny of a survivor can create additional harm, including:increased harassment and retaliation;further trauma and distress;discouragement of future survivors from coming forward;normalization of victim blaming and public shaming.
